Orthogeomys thaeleri is een goffer uit het geslacht Orthogeomys die voorkomt in de Serranía de Baudó in het uiterste noordwesten van Colombia, in het departement Chocó. Mogelijk is het dezelfde soort als O. dariensis uit Panama. O. thaeleri is de zuidelijkst voorkomende van alle goffers.
O. thaeleri is een grote goffer. De bovenkant van het lichaam is roodbruin, de onderkant is nauwelijks behaard; de weinige haren zijn grijs. De voeten, die ook vrijwel onbehaard zijn, zijn grijs van kleur. De snorharen (vibrissae) zijn wit. De staart is lichtbruin tot wit. De totale lengte bedraagt 313 tot 365 mm, de staartlengte 103 tot 130 mm, de achtervoetlengte (c.u.) 47 tot 50 mm, de oorlengte 9 tot 10 mm en het gewicht 298 tot 535 g.
