Talk:Christian cults
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The very title of this article is NPOV, given the form of its content. What I mean is, there are plenty of "groups that have some teachings that most christians teach but may have some beliefs that are not taught in mainstream Christianity," but that doesn't make them a cult. Consider, oh, Islam or Judaism. Both have some teachings that Christians teach, but they certainly aren't cults. This needs either elaboration or deletion. ZimZalaBim 01:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. I think this page should be deleted. TK421 05:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- This page needs major work extending it. Certainly, Christian Cults have beliefs some Christians disagree with. On the other had, something followed by a great number of people (ie. a majority) is not a cult. As an example, take Christianity in the beginnings. It certainly was a Jewish sect, or a cult. Nowadays, few people would classify it as a cult. Another problem this article (when extended) might have is to make a clear difference between cult and sect. Also, sect clearly has a religious connotation, cult need not have. In short, this article is to be extended, not deleted. --Eptalon 08:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
