The Dutch are the people who live in the Netherlands, commonly called Holland. Dutch is also a language, spoken mostly in the Netherlands, in Belgium and in Suriname. The language spoken in South Africa, called Afrikaans, also looks a lot like the Dutch language.
Many inventors have been Dutch, including the inventors of the microscope , the telescope, and the incubator.
