A Gecko is a kind of lizard. They live in many warm countries. Geckos are different from other lizards because they make chirping sounds. They have no eyelids, and have to lick their eyes to stop them going dry.
Many species can walk on ceilings and walls and windows. They can do this because of special toe pads that help them cling to things.
Geckos like to go into people's houses. They are often welcome because of all the insects they eat.
