Heretic
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A heretic is a person guilty of heresy. Heresy is the fact that someone has a belief (or religious opinion) which is not the same as the Orthodox or Catholic church.
Especially in the Middle Ages it was common to accuse someone of heresy. If the accusations could be proven (through torture, which means that usually they were proven), the heretic would undergo a ritual to save his or her soul. This ritual involved being burnt at the stake.
In the middle ages, male heretics used to be called warlock, female heretics used to be called witch.
