A mouse (plural mice) is a rodent, a kind of mammal related to a rat. These small animals are often used in science experiments, or sometimes kept as pets. The word mouse may bring a lot of images to your brain. Some people think mice are just ugly pests who carry sickness. Other people think mice (as stated above) are just innocent animals who help human health. Or, some people think of lovable Mickey and Minnie Mouse. But any mouse is related to squirrels, rats, and beavers.
[edit] Their part in our World
Mice are important. All mice, no matter what, eat weeds, seeds, berries, and more. They're always getting eaten by owls and foxes (not to mention, cats).
[edit] Some Types
The most common mice are house mice. They are usually pests and sneak into our cars and houses. There are also short - tailed mice called voles. (Not moles!) Female (girl) voles may have 17 litters (baby "packages") a year, with 4-9 babies in those "packages"! Then there are deer mice, who live in forests (that's why they're called deer mice). The mean, fighting grasshopper mouse can eat other mice!
