A rug is a thick cloth that is used to cover a floor. Sometimes a rug is called a carpet. Rugs can be made from fur or plant material. For example rugs can be made from cotton, which comes from plants. Now people can use oil to make rugs from a man-made material. You can buy rugs at stores. In some parts of the world, people barter for rugs. Rugs could be used for decoration or to keep warm.
