User talk:Sikkimonline
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello, Sikkimonline, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.
Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.
If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.
Good luck and happy editing!-- Tdxiang @ 09:04, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Just a few things I felt I needed to point out on your changes to the article.
- The image seems to have been added to simple.wiki. All images must be added to Commons. Images added to S.Wiki will be deleted. There is a large notice posted when you go to upload an image here explaining this.
- The image needed to be placed in the article in a way that is less overpowering.
- See Wikipedia:Image_use_policy for more information on both image use and policy.
- The added information you supplied was neither simple (many words which were not easily understood by someone who does not have english as a primary language) nor wikified (terms need to be linked to relative articles).
- While the Wikifying of an article isnt such a big deal (There are many editors here willing to go through and wikify text for people), simplification realy needs to be the focus of any additions. Overly discriptive text needs to be kept to a minimum if possible (Posh, for example, is not a word that should be used if at all possible. Imposing and leisurely are other terms you may want to look for alternative ways of saying them)
- The article is borderline in reguards to Neutral Point of Veiw (NPOV). It is realy close to reading like a travel brochure put out by the area. Pointing out an areas strong points and attractions is one thing, sounding like an ad agency when doing it leads to a POV issue.
I hope you will consider these points and the references in them to help improve the article in a productive manner. -- Creol 06:47, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
