Sled dog
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sled dogs, also called sleigh dogs, sledge dogs or sleddogs, are dogs used for mushing (pulling a sled over snow or ice) and are usually of husky dog breed.
Sled dogs helped bring food and emergency supplies to whalers trapped near Point Barrow, in the U.S. state of Alaska, in 1897-8, during what came to be called the Overland Expedition.
