Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada

Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada (Madrid, 1960) is a Spanish fashion designer. Her original bright-coloured designs are very popular, she uses motifs as moons, stars, suns or hearts in them. She designs furniture, carpets, crockery, lamps, pens, pencils, lipbalms, scents, sleeves, towels or bed linen as well as clothes.
She studied in l'Escola d'Art i Tècniques de la Moda de Barcelona. She started her career as a designer in 1981, when she made her first fashion show in Local, Centro de Diseño and she was an icon for the Movida.
She lives currently in Madrid, where she has one of his main studios and lives with her sentimental partner, the journalist Pedro J. Ramírez. They have two children, a son Tristan and a daughter, Cosima.
