Øre, Norway

Øre is a village and former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway.
The municipality was created as Øre formannskapsdistrikt in 1837. On 1 September 1882 a part of Fredø with 40 inhabitants was moved to Øre. On 1 September 1893 a part of Øre, with 226 inhabitants, was used to create the new municipality Gjemnes.
On 1 January 1965 the rest of Øre was incorporated into Gjemnes, significantly enlarging its population. Prior to the merger Øre had a population of 1,565.
