"...in his famous treaty published in 1638" doesn't sound right. I'd take a treaty to be only an agreement between soverign states. Shouldn't it be "treatise"? RivGuySC 18:57, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

What's an "Œ"? What is it called? How is it pronounced? I thought I had seen all the accents and unusual letters that French had to offer, but I have never seen this before. LordAmeth 00:00, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

- In written French it is usually just "OE" but the 'official' spelling uses the ligature Œ (see Œ, called "e dans l'o" [e in the o] in French). In French this letter is pronounced a close-mid front rounded vowel or an open-mid front rounded vowel. --Schzmo 17:38, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
