According to the developers, 1944 D-Day Operation Overlord endeavors to tell the story of Operation Overlord and deliver an accurate simulation of the battle by using squad based tactics with realistic weapons and vehicles.
The developers advertise that the player will have the ability to choose from any unit in the battlefield, whether it be infantry or a vehicle. The developers also advertise that the player will have the ability to take over any role on the battlefield, from pilot to commander to priest.
