[edit] Unblock request

We can't unblock you at this time, because you haven't given us the information we need to look into your block. You yourself were not blocked; if you were prevented from editing, you must have been autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. I'm removing your unblock request because there's nothing we can do without this information. If you are still autoblocked by the time you read this message:

  1. Try and edit the Wikipedia:Sandbox by clicking [here].
  2. Copy the {{unblock-auto|...}} code generated for you under the "Autoblocked?" section.
  3. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.

If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing. --  Netsnipe   ►  16:38, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

It's vandalism on your shared IP address. Please follow these instructions for unblocking. Thanks. --  Netsnipe   ►  15:00, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Ta for the unblocking, many happy regards, 1B6 14:32, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

FYI: I didn't unblock you since you didn't give me the required information. Since you're posting again, it means your autoblock expired instead. --  Netsnipe   ►  14:34, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help

There isn't any code to do that. It happens automatically when you get new messages. You should place further {{helpme}} tags on this your talk page rather than anywhere else, this is where people will respond. --pgk 16:00, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

I'd go to one of the pages you've seen it, use the edit button to see what the code is and copy it to your own page. I'll add though that many people dislike those for the obvious confusion they can cause. --pgk 16:05, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Autoblock of 82.198.250.72 lifted/expired.

Request handled by:  Netsnipe   ►  15:07, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Header

What you want are probably Template:usertalkheader and Template:User new message. See User talk:Netsnipe/header for an example of them in action. You might also want to fix those invalid red links on your page. --  Netsnipe   ►  15:18, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Comment

[1] isn't really very helpful. — Matt Crypto 13:07, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

I didnt mean it to be helpfull, I was enforcing the policy. 1B6 14:13, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
The user, who is apparently a new Wikipedian, as you apparently are, had placed a recipe on their user page. Let's keep that in proportion. If that is indeed against policy (is it?), it still does not merit a threat to be blocked (which you cannot enforce) nor an encouragement to leave if they don't like it. See WP:BITE. — Matt Crypto 16:31, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
I've readded it. Sorry, but that was unilateral, very bitey (see above), not in the spirit of userpages, contrary to assuming good faith, and ignorant of the fact that WP:NOT, especially the section you "used", isn't intended for userpages. Please do not re-revert it in. Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 00:07, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Helpme request

{{helpme|Why do I keep getting logged out?}}

This is an intermittent problem that affects some users. Here are some steps you can try to solve it:

  • Make sure that your browser allows cookies from Wikipedia.
  • Try using the 'Remember me' checkbox when logging in.
  • If neither of these work, this alternate login interface has solved problems for people in the past.

Hope that helps. --ais523 11:58, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reporting vandalism

Next time, please report vandals to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (aka WP:AIV) instead of contacting individual admins. I don't check my talk page every hour you know! You'll get a much quicker response there. --  Netsnipe  ►  12:18, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wow, that's weird

Sup! Yeah, tis me... the guy who has no idea why that thing happened a long time ago. Anyways, that's some problem you got there with the userpage. From my experience in page reverts (from vandalism fighting), there is no possible way to bypass the History tab... it may not be a hacker, it may just be that your userpage is corrupt. But nevertheless, good luck with that. (Maybe the Wiki engine is screwing up your page because of your username...?) --StonedChipmunk 01:14, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] rogue admins

I have had the misfortune to run into a few rogue admins.

But, when I told User:J Di that I thought they had made a mistake, they looked into it, agreed, and offered me a handsome apology. So, they pass my civility test with flying colors. FWIW, YMMV.

Cheers! — Geo Swan 21:42, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 82.32.33.192

- Remain civil when "warning" users; comments like the ones you have left on User talk:82.32.33.192 are unacceptable, even if the person behind the IP has made personal attacks against you. J Di 10:44, 28 January 2007 (UTC) - :I suggest you look at the history of the event before you interrupt. 1B6 10:47, 28 January 2007 (UTC) - ps: thanks, you just proved that my original comment was true! - ::What history do you want me to look at? I've looked at Special:Contributions/82.32.33.192, and the IP has only made two edits (that haven't been deleted). Also, if you want to continue being uncivil towards me, I won't bother trying to help; I don't have to help if I don't want to. J Di 10:51, 28 January 2007 (UTC) - :::Then you will have seen that those comments left were incivil, and I didnt even ask for your help in the first place, you decided to interrupt, as usual, and turn everything into a struggle. 1B6 10:53, 28 January 2007 (UTC) - ::::Hi. I'm an administrator, so I can block users that need to be blocked. You posted a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, and by doing that you asked me and every other administrator that gives a damn about that page to look into your report. Even though you didn't post the report in the correct section either time, I spent my time on looking into your report and decided that the IP doesn't need to be blocked because no edits have been made by it today. If you want to continue disliking me for whatever reason (I don't even know where I'm supposed to have run into you or why you decided to let me know how much you don't like me), you carry on, but don't give me a hard time for doing something I said I would do. J Di 11:03, 28 January 2007 (UTC) - :::::Personal attacks are to be blocked on site. And I dont hate you, I loath you with a passion. 1B6 11:14, 28 January 2007 (UTC) - ::::::No they aren't, please see Wikipedia:No personal attacks and Wikipedia:Blocking policy. Please also read Wikipedia:Civility. J Di 11:23, 28 January 2007 (UTC) - :::::::Is that so? Then I suggest you also read wp:civil, as you are more incivil than me. 1B6 08:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - ::::::::This isn't about who you think is "more incivil", it's about the fact that you have been uncivil in response to incivility and in response to me doing things I would do whether you were on Wikipedia or not. I can see that you don't really care so I'm just going to stop this now as I have better ways to waste my time. J Di 09:16, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - :::::::::Don't you dare try and throw this on me, first off, you had the cheek to interrupt in a situation which dosent concern you, then you tried to tell me that I was being incivil by making a response to some anon. - :::::::::Clearly you are not suitible to be an admin, so I suggest you read wp:ARL. 1B6 09:23, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - ::::::::::WP:AIV does concern me, and your messages to the IP were uncivil. J Di 09:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - :::::::::::Oh, ok, so it is ok for vandals to insult, but not for editors to reply, have you seen the history, no. 1B6 09:44, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - ::::::::::::It's not okay for anybody to insult anybody else, but being uncivil back doesn't help. J Di 09:54, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - Offensive comments deleted; if the IP persists, I use my flying monkeys. If you, 1B6, persist, you get the same treatment. Have a good day. :)—Ryūlóng () 10:09, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - - == Arbitration request == - - Your arbitration request has been improperly filed. Thatcher131 12:35, 29 January 2007 (UTC) - - == Incivility == - - Please do not continue to make incivil and offcolor comments such as these, again. There was no reason for you to open an ArbCom case against J Di, and I don't see any thing that he did to you to require as such.—Ryūlóng () 00:43, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - ===Concerning [2]=== - Stop Wikipedia invites everyone to contribute to our encyclopedia, but incivility is NOT tolerated. If you wish to contribute, please do so in a civil manner. Part Deux 09:13, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - - == re: How dare you == - - Who the hell are you? Why the hell are you warning me? Why don't people understand that J Di Started this, so leave me alone. 1B6 09:16, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - :I didn't even see J Di's comments; all I saw was your rude comments to Ryulong. And, I might like to point out that several regulars (including administartors) telling you you're wrong just might have a point (*cough*). And comments like I loathe you with a passion only show your inability to control yourself. Personally, I would consider myself lucky if I were you, that you haven't been blocked for incivility already. As for JDi started it, I think you ought to read up on our policies concerning blocks, and it seems a little surprising to me that you, a newbie, would presume that JDi "started it" when he, following policy, didn't block an IP, and you decided to become rude to him. Please, I ask you to stop, now. Part Deux 09:20, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - ::Apparently you missed the reference that I was not calling you a dick (unlike you've now done for me), but I was reffering to the WP:DICK addage that if a bunch of people tell you you're wrong about something, they probably have a point. You've now had three people tell you you're being uncivil, yet you seem to think it's us who have the problem. Part Deux 09:29, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - :::And for that matter, I've also been here for quite a long time myself, though not under this screenname (though my other screenname wasn't blocked; I'm taking a break from it). Part Deux 09:31, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - :Look man, no reason to quit editing or anything. It happens. Just forget about the whole thing and move on. Part Deux 09:45, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - - Hi 1B6. Please a) be more civil (yes, even to vandals) and b) realise that IP addresses usually do not stay the same - one that had two vandal edits over a day ago would not be blocked. Saying I loathe you with a passion' is a daft thing to say, is not helpful, and another such bout of rudeness will see you blocked. I don't want to do it, and you seem bright enough to realise that this is what will happen. You seem to be very keen on helping Wikipedia, which is awesome, but please remember that it's not a message board where rude comments are accepted, it's an encyclopaedia, and we expect civility from all contributors. I have also asked Part Deux to stop poking you, as he's not helping. I hope you take this in hand, put it behind you, and continue contributing to Wikipedia. If you do have any questions, please let me know. Best, Proto:: 09:49, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - - ==Wikipedia:Blocking policy 09:46, 30 January 2007 (UTC)== - It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia:Blocking policy. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Robotman1974 09:46, 30 January 2007 (UTC) - - ==your message== - Hi 1B6, please read WP:POINT and WP:VAN. If you do this kind of thing again it could get you blocked, and I don't think anyone wants things to get to that point. Robotman1974 10:20, 30 January 2007 (UTC
