[edit] 26ers
For some Australians, Australia Day isn't just the birth of a nation, it's their birthday too. The Australia Day Committee (Victoria) encourages these people to join 26ers - a club open to Victorian residents born on 26 January, Australia Day. Upon joining the club, members receive a birthday card, lapel badge and an invitation to participate in the cake cutting ceremony on Australia Day. The 26ers also receive regular updates about planned celebrations from the Australia Day Committee (Victoria). If you are a Victorian resident and were born on Australia Day or know someone who was, don't forget to register or nominate them. New members can join at any time throughout the year, by sending a copy of their birthdate proof (birth certificate, passport or driver's license) and current mailing address in Victoria to the Committee: Australia Day Committee (Victoria) Ground Floor 1 Treasury Place MELBOURNE VIC 3002 Media:http://www.australiaday.vic.gov.au/i/26ers_06.jpg [[Image:[[1]]]] The Australia Day Committee runs the 26ers Club, for people of any age who celebrate their birthday on 26 January.
