2Xtreme is a racing game released for the Sony Playstation in 1996. It was sponsored by ESPN. In it, the player races against others in numerous events around the world: Rollerblading, skateboarding, biking, and snowboarding. Locales include Africa, Japan, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, and each locale has three tracks each. Tricks can be performed during the race, and different-colored gates can be passed through for a variety of purposes: To gain speed, to jump higher, to regain health, and to earn points. Players can also punch and kick opponents.
