33 is Catalonia's second public television channel. It belongs to Televisió de Catalunya, a subsidiary of the CCRTV. The channel is available in analogue and DDT in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Valencia, Andorra, Northern Catalonia and part of Aragón.
Originally called Canal 33, on 2003 underwent a restructuring that split it into two channels that share the same frequency: 33 and K3. 33 usually broadcasted from about the 21 hours until the following morning on weekdays and almost all day (except for couple of hours at midday) at the weekend. While this is still true for analogical broadcasting, since December 2006 33 has a channel of his own in Digital terrestrial television.
Unlike its "big brother", TV3, 33 is a cultural and sports channel. 33's programming consists of cultural programs, documentaries, sports events (except the most important ones, that are broadcast by the main channel TV3), and debates. K3, a children/teenagers channel, takes over the remaining air time.
