You may download, display, print and reproduce this material in unaltered form only (retaining this notice and imagery metadata) for your personal, non-commercial use or use within your family or organisation. Apart from any use as permitted under the Copyright Act 1968 (for example, "fair dealing" for the purposes of reporting news under section 103B of the Copyright Act), all other rights are reserved. Fair use rationale: This image was released by the Australian Department of Defence as part of a media event to infom the media and public of the Australian Military's counter-terrorism capabilities. I believe that the use of this image, with the Department of Defence being clearly identified as the image's source, on a non-commercial online encyclopaedia such as Wikipedia qualifies for 'fair dealing' status under Australian law and the relevant copyright notice (reproduced above) as it is relevant to studying and researching the capabilties of the Australian special forces and is an image which was released by the Department of Defence in order to inform the public and for use by the media.
[edit] Licensing
This work is copyrighted and unlicensed. It does not fall into one of the blanket fair use categories listed at Wikipedia:Fair use#Images or Wikipedia:Fair use#Audio_clips. However, it is believed that the use of this work in the article "4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment":
- To illustrate the object in question
- Where no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information
- On the English-language Wikipedia ([1]), hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation ([2]),
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use and Wikipedia:Copyrights.
To the uploader: this tag is not a sufficient claim of fair use. You must also include the source of the work, all available copyright information, and a detailed fair use rationale.
