Please stop adding commercial links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. Kuru talk 16:27, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising, as you did in LASIK, you will be blocked from editing. -- Scientizzle 04:57, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Please explain to me why the commercial link I am trying to replace is more appropriate that the one I added. Thanks.
- The guidelines you seek can be found at WP:WWIN and WP:EL. The Eye Surgery Education Council was established by a well known and reputable professional group, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. On the other hand, LasikDocFinder.com was created by a marketing group that offers "a comprehensive internet presence for medical practices". The difference in quality and intent of these two sites is clear. -AED 05:29, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I absolutely agree that ASCRS is an excellent and objective organization, but are 2 links to their site adding to the breadth of this site? The LasikDocFinder.comlink is no more commercial than the self appointed certification organization USAEyes.org! This is the last time I will add the link, but it is under protest...
- LasikDocFinder.com currently refers doctors to one of three surgeons, and (per WP:EL) it is not offering anything that isn't already offered by better links. If you believe their are certain links that should be or should not be in the article, I would encourage you to post your arguments in Talk:LASIK. -AED 04:00, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
