65 Episode Policy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 65 Episode Policy is a television programming term used for shows that are prohibited from producing beyond 65 episodes (regardless of how popular it may be).
Although the policy is not official, it is widely believed that the Disney Channel turned the "65 and you're out" policy into a standard practice.
However, many childrens' animated programs outside of the Disney umbrella have produced a maximum of 65 episodes. This is most likely due to the fact that 65 episodes is considered the minimum number needed for syndication.

Further logic behind the 65 episode limit is to prevent stagnation and to help increase the amount of shows in the Disney repertoire.
That's So Raven was the first original Disney Channel series to last beyond 65 episodes. Also, Disney Channel renewed Kim Possible for a fourth season after intially cancelling it following three seasons and 65 episodes. Disney's change of heart was in large part due to the popularity of the series and grassroots operations by dedicated Kim Possible fans.
