Face Time: often shortened to facetime, this term came into limited use in the late '70s and early'80s. It means to hang out, to see and be seen, literally to spend time showing your face to all the right people at all the right places to maximize popularity. The term is mostly associated with 'preppies'as mentioned in a song written for the legendary Cornell mens' vocal group The Hangovers, as recorded on the albums 'Facetime' and 'Vintage.'
