[edit] G4techTV Canada
Why the hell does the the order of the owners matter? G4 has a higher priority over the channel, even though the ownership of G4techTV is equally spilt. G4 provides a good amount of it's content, Rogers does along with running the channel. What the hell does Shaw do? By the way, shortening the names of the companies is pointless. There's different divisions of Rogers (not sure about Shaw) and there's one specific division that was in charge of G4techTV and other TV properties, not just "Rogers".
[edit] CTV Northern Ontario and CTV Atlantic
Do you know what an O&O is? By definition, an O&O is owned and operated by the network, so there's simply no need to state that CTV Northern Ontario and CTV Atlantic are "technically a part of CTV itself". Being part of the network is inherent in being an O&O, not some weird technicality that we need to call special attention to in addition to stating that they're O&Os. Bearcat 09:30, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Specialty channels
Similar to the last comment, saying "cable specialty television channel" (as in W Network) is redundant because a specialty channel by definition is carried by cable TV and not over the air. It's also slightly misleading because it is (or may be) also available on satellite, MMDS, and sometimes other means (other than over the air). If you can say things in fewer words without confusing the reader, do so. &mdash Stickguy 02:18, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bpm:tv
Hey, I noticed you removed those programs from the article Bpm:tv. I agree that they're not too notable, but the article would be so short without them... I wasn't sure what to do, but I discussed it with other users on IRC and they decided it should stay. Sorry to revert you! I'm glad to discuss the issue further on my talk page, and ultimately I don't really care what happens so if you feel it should be changed back I won't mind. Peace, delldot | talk 03:55, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hey bud, stop messing with my edits, what's the big idea?!? What exactly is Useless about the info I am adding to various pages such as the bpm:tv page, care to explain? I don't see what is wrong with the program info I have put in? I am just going to change it back so I suggest you quit while you are ahead or explain your reasons for deleting the stuff! HeMan5 21:38, 02 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Useless Info
I am not adding Every show only a few so people get an idea about the type of programming on the channel, is that not permitted?? What else am I supposed to write, the articles look more like friggin' blurbs than articles! Just trying to make them a little longer and more meaningful. Also, most digital channels in Canada don't have much programming to begin with so whatever is there is what they air. I will stop now since there is no point with you deleting everything 69.198.108.51. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by HeMan5 (talk • contribs) .
[edit] Images
Those images that you keep putting back are going to be deleted due to lack of copyright information. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 02:07, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- The images were removed and tagged as per Wikipedia:Image use policy by User:OrphanBot here. This means that unless the the images are properly tagged (see [1] and fall within the copyright guidelines for Wikipedia they may be deleted in a week. So then there will be a bunch of articles with orphan links that someone has to go and remove. Also please use four ~~~~ when you post to talk pages and remember Wikipedia:Civility. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 02:38, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
It might not have been your intent, but you recently removed content from Discovery Health. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. Where (talk) 02:41, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ATN Bangla
This is a Bangladeshi satellite channel. I started it, and for your convenience, I moved your content to the Canadian channel's own page. Thanks. --Ragib 23:17, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Maybe a disambigulation page should be started for it.
- I added a notice linking to ATN Bangla (Canada). Thanks. --Ragib 23:21, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for that, I was going to start it but you did it first, thanks and sorry for deleting the info, if I knew and remembered it was originally intended for the Bangladeshi channel I would have started one for the Canadian channel instead.
[edit] Leafs TV
Category:Sports television in Canada is already a subcategory of Category:Canadian television networks; Wikipedia has an explicit rule against simultaneously filing articles in categories and subcategories at the same time. Bearcat 22:09, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] TVtropolis
It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed content from TVtropolis. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you.
- With regards to the above, you seem to have reverted or restored a previous version of TVtropolis in order to restore some edits you made. In the process, you overwrote a fair number of changes that had been made, including some intended to bring the article in line with Wikipedia projects about television. I've restored the deleted content, and then I went through your version and added the information you seemed to want in the article. Cheers! --Ckatz 04:44, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Network feeds
In the process of editing TVtropolis, I noticed your text for the east and west feeds, and that you've put this text in a number of articles. (Are you an un-logged-in User:Cdn boi? I don't care either way, but you two seem to be adding the same text to the same articles, and I want to make sure I'm telling the right people...) I wanted to chat before you do a lot more work adding these lines:
-
- "The network operates two channel feeds, East coast and West coast versions. The East coast feed operates from the Eastern Standard timezone and the West coast feed operates from the Pacific Sandard timezone."
I've rewritten the text in the TVtropolis article, as follows:
-
- "TVtropolis operates two feeds, East and West, using Eastern and Pacific time respectively."
The reason for this is to bring it more in line with how it would be discussed in the broadcast industry. There aren't two channels of TVtropolis (or YTV or whatever); just two feeds of the same programming content, with an offset schedule. As well, you don't want to lock the text into "standard" time; the more generic "Eastern" and "Pacific" match how it would be referred to on-air, as well as dealing with the whole standard/daylight time issue. Finally, strictly speaking, the feeds aren't "operating from" the respective time zones. They're transmitted from the same facility, often by the same master control, using schedules appropriate to the time zone in question. --Ckatz 05:00, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Netspeak
You probably want to lose the Netspeak and abbreviations when editing or using edit summaries.
Just an idea. :) — Nathan (talk) / 18:54, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] TV Land Canada Logo
Hey, why do you keep changing the logo I added in back to the one that was there before?? That one is small, mine is larger and stands out. They are both the same, design wise, not sure what your obsession is with that tiny little thing?! Care to explain, so we can stop playing switch the logo?HeMan5 05:54, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the tone, didn't realize what was going on, thought you were just playin' around. As for the logo, I have seen no problems, I can see both the one that was there and the one I put in. Not sure why you are having problems?! I am going to re-insert it again, if you still have problems I suggest bringing to the attention of the admins or whoever is in charge.HeMan5 18:10, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
