[edit] Christianity, Astrology And Myth
The book Christianity, Astrology And Myth has been promoted in numerous articles, to most of which it appears to lack relevance, by multiple IP addresses over more than a month. I have posted notices on the talk pages of four such addresses noting Wikipedia's guidelines on Spam; see User talk:81.157.134.145, User talk:86.138.144.131, User talk:86.146.100.238, User talk:86.145.175.190. However, these appear to have been ignored. By this stage, I am finding it very hard to assume good faith. If you believe that this book should be listed as "Further reading" for any Wikipedia article, I suggest that you use the associated Talk page to explain its relevance, and its status as a reliable source. [edit] Your thesis
You have been adding links to your book on multiple pages, and they have been removed. Wikipedia is not a place to promote your own work. It is not an indescrimante collection of links or references either. Your book is not referenced in any of the articles in question, and it does not appear to be notable enough to have such a prescense on so many different articles. It seems like your only interest in 'contribution' to wikipedia is to promote your own book, which is clearly spam. However, since you state that this was your MA thesis and that you are an 'expert', you may consider more productive ways to contribute to wikipedia. Why not, instead of simply adding a link to your own book to all these pages, which doesn't help anyone (well, I guess it helps you sell books, but it doesn't help those coming to wikipedia to find immediate information), you could actually use your knowledge and expertise to edit the actual content in these articles. You could review the content for accuracy, add and expand content. The only thing is, I would ask you to site scholars other than yourself to avoid original research. Being an acedemic, I'm sure it should be easy to find scores of resources other than your own book to contribute to wikipedia's content. I hope you decide to become an active editor and share your expertise with the wikipedia community. Thanks for your consideration.-Andrew c 15:23, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
