- I will admit this is classic, considering you vandalized a page and then want me to apologize to you for correcting your commentary. You added the same edit twice ([1] and [2]), which was twice reverted by editors. At no point did you go back and "reword" your edit [3]. No apologies for that. Thanks. --Ataricodfish 19:34, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi, you certainly have a strong opinion about phil collins! You'll find that edits like [this] to biographies on living people get removed as soon as seen. All disparaging comments in bio's must be sourced and verifyable - checkout WP:RS and WP:V for more information - Peripitus (Talk) 21:40, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thankyou for your polite and informative response. I think the time has come for me to get a username here. Maybe then people will stop accusing me of 'vandalism' so often.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.21.148.134 (talk • contribs) 07:48, 13 July 2006.
- That is a very good idea. An account will give you all of the below
- The use of a username of your choice, provided that it is appropriate.
- The use of your own personal watchlist to which you can add articles that interest you.
- The ability to start new pages.
- The ability to rename pages.
- The ability to edit semi-protected pages.
- The ability to upload images.
- The ability to customize the appearance and behavior of the website.
- The eligibility to eventually become an administrator.
- Your IP address will no longer be visible to other users.
- Note however that regardless of the source of the edit, high profile articles like Phil Collins are watched by many users and all edits tend to be closely looked at and ruthlessly reverted if they don't meet wikipedia standards. Hope you create an account and happy editing --Peripitus (Talk) 08:15, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- I wouldn't classify your original edits as vandalism, however when you add something that has the potential to be considered inflammatory you need to use citations to show that this isn't your own opinion or conclusion, see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:No original research. So even including sources showing that Collins supported the Conservative Party under Margaret Thatcher and that he evicted travellers from his land still wouldn't be enough until you have an external citation that accuses Collins of hypocrisy or incongruity due to these actions - making the connection yourself falls under original research obviously. Incivility and repeated reverts are only going to detract from your case. - 81.178.86.15 09:37, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
