14 December 2006 the FFA announced that it had revoked the competition licence held by the New Zealand Knights owners. An arrangement with NZ Soccer will see the national body step in to manage the club for the remaning five weeks of the regular season, with former All White's player Ricki Herbert to fill the role of Head Coach.

22 November 2006 - Queensland Roar sign striker Damian Mori on a short-term contract, after Central Coast Mariners were forced to release him due to the squad restrictions laws. New Queensland coach Frank Farina hopes the all-time record NSL striker can lift the Roar out of their goal-scoring slump.

13 November 2006 - Queensland Roar accepts the resignation of Miron Bleiberg who becomes the third coach casualty in A-League history, the second of the season, and the first to resign rather than be dismissed. Frank Farina replaces him.
