A5130 road
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The A5130 is a road in the United Kingdom. It starts at Junction 14 of the M1 motorway and proceeds south round the eastern edge of the present Milton Keynes urban area. After crossing the A421 the 5130 continues past the village of Wavendon and into that of Woburn Sands. It then crosses the Bedford-Bletchley railway by means of a level crossing and terminates a short distance to the south upon meeting the A4012 just inside the village of Woburn.
The road is de facto a part of the Milton Keynes Grid Road System, an unofficial V12.
[edit] Future
When the eastern expansion of Milton Keynes begins construction, Milton Keynes Partnership plans to downgrade the road to what it calls "a High Street". This plan is controversial and is opposed locally, but the Partnership says that it has completed due process and now has the authority to impose it. It is not yet clear whether or not this stretch will retain the A5130 number or if it will be deleted.
