A Friend of Mine is an experimental post-punk band from Melbourne, Australia. Their sound is characterized by industrial electronics, extreme dynamics and chaotic soundscapes. Although formed recently, the band has gained increasing attention in the local scene due to their unpredictable live shows and eclectic material, often performing ambient sets in addition to their regular shows.
Produced by Sam Lowe (who has previously worked with Isis, The Tea Party, You Am I and Jet), the band's first EP, If Your Head Explodes You'll Never Make It, is scheduled for a June 2007 release on independent label Pith Records.
