A Stranger in Town is a 1943 comedy-drama political film made by Loew's Inc. and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was directed by Roy Rowland and produced by Robert Sisk from an original screenplay by Isobel Lennart and William Kozlenko. The film had a music score by Daniele Amfitheatrof and Nathaniel Shilkret, and cinematography by Sidney Wagner.
It starred Frank Morgan, Richard Carlson, Jean Rogers and featured Porter Hall, John Hodiak and Chill Wills.

Supreme Court justice John Josephus Grant (Frank Morgan) decides to take a break from his hectic schedule by going on a hunting vacation. Travelling incognito, he stops over in a small town that turns out to be a hotbed of political corruption. Taking a liking to honest young mayoral candidate Bill Adams (Richard Carlson), Grant uses his legal know-how to help thwart Adams' crooked opponents.
