Abdul Karim Lodhi

Abdul Karim Lodhi (Urdu: عبد الکریم لودھی) is a former member of the defunct Civil Service of Pakistan. He hails from Sindh province. He began his career as Assistant Commissioner, Peshawar. During his nearly 35 years in service he remained Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, MD Bankers Equity Limited, Chief Secretary Sindh, Chairman State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, Chief Secretary Punjab and Federal Secretary of the Statistics and Establishment Divisions. After his retirement, Lodhi represented Pakistan as Executive Director at the World Bank. Following the military takeover in 1999, Lodhi was appointed Chairman of the Sindh Public Accounts Committee. Later, he represented Sindh as a member of the National Finance Commission (NFC), from which post he resigned in December 2004 in protest at the arbitrary decisions taken by the Federal Government in supersession of the NFC.
