Abeed (meaning Slaves in Arabic) is the lable given to all Negroids residing in Arabic lands, even if their great-grandfathers proselytized to Islam (so to gain their freedom) they are still labled "Abeed" it's not even considered an insult anymore (like the N-word still is in America) because, unforunately, it has become like the name of their race, like saying African-Negro. So you have a people of colour (by American standards) calling those of the African Negro race "Abeed"(slaves) to this very day. However this term is not used on mulatto-like people, or what you would prefer to say;"light-skinned" black person person. Today you have Arabs who have some mixed Negroid-blood in them because their ancestors took black concubines, and you have "whitish" pure-bred semitic Arabs like the famous and proud Qureish-tribe of Arabia (The prophet Mohammad's tribe), who don't inter-marry.
The African-Negros have always been used as slaves in the middle-east since time immemorial, and long before the Europeans came in on the seen. 2). In Ancient-Egypt the African-Negros (Kushites) were first used as slaves, they were captured in the numerous wars with Kush, (Egypts long time enemys to the south). Yes it was the Ancient-Egyptians who were the first to use the African-Negros as slaves (and the girls as sex-slaves, concubines). How odd it is that today some Black-Americans like to parade the Ancient-Egyptian culture, and not the Ancient-Kushite or Nubian cultures.
other words some Arabs used to call Black Africans the N word is Habesha, or Abesha (pronounced Bish'aa) meaning UGLY !!! The Arabs don't consider very dark skin-tone and/or krinkly-hair as signs of beauty. They thought Negroids look hideous, even monstrous.
and they actually believe that Negroids were (in their words) got "over cooked in the sun" and Negroids have less intelligence than an Animal, because their brains aren't as developed as the Arabs,(Later, Europeans used those same descriptions). Unlike most people in the west today, the Arabs haven't as yet developed a need for having "politicaly-correct" remarks when describing blacks, especially when talking or describing about them, to other Arabs. I think it's because they (Arabs) always felt they are at the "top of the food chain" to the others.
