[edit] Criticism of abingdon boys school
I do not have a problem with criticism about the band included in this article, but statements like these:
Abingdon Boys School has been heavily criticized by many Rock fans in Japan due to T.M. Revolution being a J-Pop star rather than someone who has more experience in the genre.
should at least include a citation. Just about anyone could come up with a claim like that, and pass it off as a fact. ~Michelle 04:18, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
tbh I go to this school and we're upset that someone would create a band when THEY DONT EVEN GO TO THE SCHOOL! Also sensing some legal issues.
- I understand your distress. When I first saw the page's title I assumed it would be about the school. However, someone from your IP expressed their unhappiness by vandalising the page, and then vandalising my user talk page when I reverted the vandalism. I don't think such public misbehaviour reflects well on the school, do you? As for the legal issues, I don't think they should be your concern. Perhaps you could bring the matter to the attention of the school authorities and have them look into it, though I'd be surprised if they could do much. As for Wikipedia, may I suggest that you put together a decent page about the school itself and then put a link to it on the band's page? Philip Trueman 18:32, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
For the record, the school's page is at Abingdon School, and I've added a disambiguating hatnote to this article. Since there appears to be a controversy about the band's use of the school's name, I've added some citations to the note about the school at Abingdon School#Trivia — but the sources I was able to find don't quite meet the requirements of WP:ATT. If any fans of the band can provide better sources for the fact that they're named after the school — perhaps an interview in print, or a Japanese page that I can't read — please add them to Abingdon School. Thanks. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 18:00, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
