This is a discography for the Australian rock band AC/DC.
Since 1975, Australian hard rock band AC/DC has released 20, having released 16 internationally and 16 in Australia. Additionally, the band has released 5 live albums, 12 video collections of concerts and music videos, and at least 6 box sets (one of which, Bonfire, needs to be looked at in a completely different category). This combines for an unbelievable wealth of material available for anyone looking into this amazing band. AC/DC has made a number of singles over the years, some officially released, others album cuts, and in addition has appeared on several official soundtracks and in countless movies.
However, it may be worth noting that - unlike most artists, some of whom have thrown dozens of 'best of' collections towards their fans - despite having released material for over 30 years, AC/DC has never released any 'greatest hits' type packages. As "Who Made Who," which served as the soundtrack to Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive, and the band's various Live discs are about as close as AC/DC has gotten to such a compilation, any mention of one may well be taken as a sign that the band's illustrious career has finally come to a close.
AC/DC have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, including more than 68 million albums in the U.S.[1] Back in Black has sold 42 million units worldwide, including 21 million in the U.S.,[2] making it the second-highest-selling album ever internationally, and the biggest-selling album by any band.[3]

[edit] Remasters
The AC/DC remasters are a series of digitally remastered AC/DC albums, the first installment of which was released by Epic Records on February 2003 (see 2003 in music). Each re-released album is remastered from the original source tapes for optimum sound quality and is packaged in a deluxe digi-pak case with a booklet about the respective period.[4][5] Also, the rereleased CDs use the ConnecteD Technology which can unlock exclusive band footage, such as rare audio, videos, photos, historically accurate memorabilia and tour dates.[6]
Although the entire band catalog was rereleased on UK,[7] on the United States only the albums that are over ten years old are digitally remastered, for example, Ballbreaker was rereleased in 2005,[8] because it was originally released in 1995, but the older albums weren't rereleased together, they were rereleased separately in three groups.
