Acuas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Acuas was one of the first representants of Manicheism in the Christian Orient. Presumably a Mesopotamian, he introduced this religion into Eleutheropolis in Palestine. The Manichaeans were sometimes called after him Acuanitae. St. Epiphanius calls him a veteranus, or an ex-soldier of the empire, and fixes his preachings in the fourth year of the reign of Aurelian (273).
