AEGIS is a network authentication system from Cisco Systems, popular in IEEE 802.1X networks.
AEGIS Protocol is an 802.1X "supplicant" -- it handles authentication for wired and wireless networks, such as those that use WPA-PSK, WPA-Radius, or Certificate-based authentication. The software implementing 802.1X is commonly installed with configuration software for wireless PC cards.
This product has been renamed to "Cisco Secure Services Client".
