Agnico-Eagle Mines

Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (TSX: AEM, NYSE: AEM) is a Quebec, Canada gold mining company involved in the acquisition, exploration and development of precious metal properties. The company's operations are located principally in Northwestern Quebec, with exploration and development activities in Quebec and Ontario. New projects outside Canada include Kittilä in Finland and Pinos Altos in Mexico. They have a policy of remaining unhedged.
On February 14 2007, Agnico-Eagle Mines announced the purchase of Cumberland Resources, a gold mining company developing the Meadowbank project ın Nunavut, Canada. After the deal AEM's gold reserves are forecast to increase by 28 percent to 13.3 million ounces and gold production by 39 percent in 2010 to about 1.3 million ounces.
