The AIESEC Learning Tool is AIESEC’s official compendium of Articles, Case studies, Exercises, PowerPoint / Overhead Slides, set of WorkMat, Web Sites, Video and Audio Clips. It also include a Learning log, a Discovery File and a Reference File.
Origin of the concept and definition of the Learning Tool: By the early 90s, AIESEC found itself split into two distinct camps and member interests: those who wanted AIESEC to remain focused on international exchange, which had been the core of the association for nearly 50 years; and those who wanted to expand its impact on society by creating projects that would focus on global issues, such as entrepreneurial spirit, corporate social responsibility and cultural understanding- topics that addressed the world's changing business environment.

But we knew that the organization could be pulled back together. Rather than just telling them how we think things should be, they go through the learning process themselves in a way that generates excitement and creativity." Being basically the main output of the last AIESEC Global Theme Conference (GTC) held in Basel, Switzerland (May 3 – 10, 1997) and inspired in the same meeting, is also the main input of the AIESEC’s 50Th anniversary International Congress back in 1998. As a compilation of the AIESEC knowledge and practice since its foundation, is usually called the AIESEC Youth Action Guide (YAG), focused on “Interdependence” with the motto “Learning and Acting for a Shared Future”.
Although hundreds of people got involved in the production of the Learning Tool, most of the content was developed by the Global Theme Conference delegates during the working groups. It was guided by Diageo executives, facilitated by CELEMI representatives together with AIESEC former international directors and staff and finally tested by selected local committees with special task force teams.
The AIESEC Learning Tool was published by AIESEC International (headquartered in The Netherlands), entirely conceptualized and partially designed by the Swedish company CELEMI AB, printed by Vanden Broele printing company (located in Belgium), globally distributed to each AIESEC committee office by PTT Post International (Switzerland), financially supported by UBS AG, AIESEC Denmark, AIESEC Switzerland and AIESEC Germany. Logistics were arranged by the Global Theme Conference Committee and the Organizing Committee of the 50th Anniversary International Congress held in Finland and Sweden.
