Albany Students' Association

The Albany Students' Association (ASA), incorporated in 1999, represents students at Massey University's Albany Campus in Auckland, New Zealand. ASA organises student events, publicises student issues, administers student facilities, and assists affiliated student clubs and societies. It is the only student association in Auckland with full membership of the national body NZUSA.[1] The current President is Michael Wynd.
Like other students' associations in New Zealand, the constitution of the ASA centers the organisation around student advocacy and the provision of welfare services. Today ASA has 7,000 members.
The ASA operates Evolution Bar, and produces Satellite Magazine. It also has involvement with StudentCard discount card Student Job Search, New Zealand Union Of Students' Associations and University Sport New Zealand. The Albany Students' Association annually run on the Albany campus the first semester Orientation festival, the second semester Winterfest, Womansfest, Political Awareness Day and Boys Will Be Boys.

- In 2006 The Executive proposed major changes to the structure of the executive committee. This was debated at the Annual General Meeting of the Association and eventually passed at a Special General Meeting.
- In 2005 The Executive committee found itself in hot water with some students on campus after the executive tried to remove Woman Students' Representative position.
- In 1999 The Albany Students' Association separated from Massey University Students' Association (MUSA) which operates on the Palmerston North campus of Massey University

Satellite is the fortnightly magazine of the Albany Campus of Massey University. It was awarded second for best small publication in the 2006 ASPA awards. Satellite has had some controversy over the past few years in particular surrounding the views of columnist Cowboy Matt.
