Albeiro Usuriaga

Albeiro Usuriaga (*June 12, 1966 - † February 11, 2004) was a Colombian football player.
Nicknamed 'Palomo', he played for Atlético Nacional, CA Independiente,Barcelona Sporting Club, Santos, Necaxa, Sportivo Luqueño and Málaga CF. For Nacional he scored the deciding goal in their Copa Libertadores 1989 final victory. He was also a striker for Colombia in the qualification for the 1990 FIFA World Cup, but because of disciplinary problems he was omitted from the final squad. He won the 1994 Argentinean Apertura tournament with Independiente. In 1997 he was suspended for two years by the Argentine Football Association for testing positive for cocaine.
On February 11, 2004, Usuriaga was gunned down in a nightclub district in Santiago de Cali.
