Alberto Martín

Alberto Martin (born August 20, 1978 in Barcelona) is a tennis player from Spain, who turned professional in 1995. He reached a career high singles ranking of 34 in 2001, and as of January 2006, has an ATP ranking of 49, and has earned more than $2,800,000 in prize money. He has won three singles titles and one doubles title. Martin plays right-handed, and is 5'9" tall.
Martin's best grand slam performance was reaching the fourth round of Roland Garros in 2006. Martin's first round win was his first victory over Andy Roddick in their fifth encounter. Martin led by two sets when Roddick retired with an ankle injury.
