Alberto Vázquez-Figueroa (b. November 11, 1936 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands) is a Spanish and a Canarian novelist.

He and his family fled the island as well as the Canary Islands during the Spanish Civil War for Africa. Since his youth, he visited the Sahara and described the culture of the desert region. He attended the studios of the Escuela Oficial de Periodismo de Madrid in a part of 1962 and worked in the Destino specials. He was a war correspondent in La Vanguardia, for TVE (Televisión Española) and for the program A toda plana with de la Cuadra Salcedo and with Silva. As a correspondent, he as with the revolutionary wars in other countries including Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, etc.
He later wrote the first novel known as Arena y viento (Wind and Air) and in 1975, he published as much as 14 to 15 novellas, one of them is Ébano. His other works includes Tuareg, Ébano, El perro as well as ambitious sagas of Cienfuegos, Bora Bora, Manaos and Piratas. He has also published an autobiography called Anaconda.
As president of a company he made a process consisting of flowing sea water at an elevation of 600 m and form a natural osmotic pressure. The pompany was constructed in Jordan.
