Albie Tedham

Albie Tedham (b. February 1926 in Langholm, Scotland. d. 1980) was a well known fiddler and pianist. Albie was deaf and used vibrations to know what to play.
Albie was born Albert Thomas Tedham on the 9 February 1926 in Kirk Wynd, Langholm. He was educated at Langholm Academy and later worked at Arthur Bells Mill in Langholm. Albert was very good at music since a young age and during his lifetime he won over 300 tropheys. He married Sarah Bell in 1957 and they had 6 children. Albert sometimes performed on Border Television and anuual played at the Langholm Common Riding. In 1979 he and Stewart Sneedon released a record named The Border Dance band at Gretna Hall. Albert died in 1980 of lung cancer and was at the time one of Scotland's top fiddle players
