Alcyone (Pleiades)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Alcyone in Greek mythology is the name of the Pleiades, daughters of Atlas and Pleione or (more rarely) Aethra.
She attracted the attention of the god Poseidon and bore him several children, variously named in the sources: Hyrieus, Lycos or Hyperenor, and Aethusa (Apollodorus); Hyperes and Anthas (Pausanias); and Ephokeu (Hyginus Fabulae). [1]
