Alejandro Zaera

Alejandro Zaera Polo (Madrid, 1963) is a spanish architect who has his studio at London. The studio, named FOA (Foreign Office Architects), was funded by him and his wife, Farshid Moussavi, in 1993. He studied in the Technical Superior School of Architecture in Madrid (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, in spanish). In the recent years he has becomed very popular because of his first work: the passenger terminal in Yokohama's port; surely his most famous work. Since this, he has done various projects which are quite different between them. Now, he is considered of one the representatives of contemporary international and spanish architecture.

- Centre of technological transfer in La Rioja (Spain).
- Public houses in Madrid.
He also made a project for the reconstruction of the World Trade Centre and the Twin Towers (New York), but his proposal wasn't elected.
