Algarah is a bazaar town located at a distance of 15 kilometres east of Kalimpong in West Bengal, India. It is at an elevation of 1,780 metres (5,840 ft) and has a population of about 3,000. Employment remains high, and many work as causal daily labourers. Most of the town's residents are ethnic Nepali.
