Alick Jeffrey was an ex-player of Doncaster Rovers. He died on November 22, 2000 at the age of 61.
Alick Jefferey is arguably one of the best players ever to come from the Doncaster Rovers. His first game for them was when he was 15 years of age. He was on the verge of playing for England and was going to be snapped up by Manchester United. This offer was rejected. Jefrrey broke his leg in a car accident in which John Nicholson (the Rovers' captain at the time) was killed. This seriously hindered Jeffrey's career and his chances of playing for England were gone.
