I made this page into a disambiguation page, creating Alien (biology), Alien (law), Alien (computing), and Extraterrestrial life in popular culture. There are a frightening number of links to the straight Alien page.
- Where am I supposed to link bog standard monsters-from-outa-space references? Extraterrestrial life reads like a SETI page and Extraterrestrial life in popular culture is little better than a stub. --zippedmartin 03:47, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
On a related note, there is an aliens disambig page as well, which seems a little redundant. I'd like to merge that content with this page and have aliens redirect here. Any objections or comments? Dan Granahan 15:55, 13 July 2005 (UTC)

Sorry for reverting your edit; I didn't look closely enough and thought you were making the mistake I've seen a lot of people make, piping the target page of a disambig line so people don't see the actual title of the article being linked to. [edit] Another addition
I added the xenomorph to this page (to the Alien movie section) for convenience purposes. Xenomorph is not an official title for the alien species, and thus many people (including me) searching for that page had to go through the Alien movie page first (as I suspect many of the people clicking that link are searching for), and even there the single link that resides amidst the text is easily overlooked (which is why I added one to see also). Seriously, I really thought those creatures were officially called Aliens, plain and simple. So I hope this helps. (DCH) 1/4/05
- Good addition. In line with keeping DAB pages as transparant as possible as the manual requests, I moved the actual xenomorph link out of your "titular alien" description, so the pipe doesn't hide the actual name anymore. Xenomorph is as official a name as you can get, so I think it's better to show it for that reason as well. Retodon8 23:25, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

- I wondered about that, too. It looks like user Fritz wanted it to be very strict and limited to the words 'alien' and 'aliens' only. I'm not sure I agree with the severe edits, but Fritz has many contributions so I will accept that the edits were valid. Wikipeon 15:04, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- Also, there is a film series box on both the Alien and Aliens pages, so users will be able to find the other films in the Alien franchise from those boxes. Wikipeon 15:10, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- I added the Alien 3 and 4 movies on the page, and just realised they had previously been removed. I'll leave them on for now until someone removes them. However if I was looking up these movies and didn't know their exact names, I'd search for the term Alien first (ie and get this page for the correct name). Gazjo 04:58, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

I removed links to the articles List of extraterrestrials in fiction and List of alien films as this is a disambiguation page and those lists refer to one meaning of alien. I definately think there is someone out there, because if you think about it, there are millions of galaxies in the univers, there are millions of stars in each galaxy, and 8 out of 10 of them will have planets to them.
