Aerolíneas Mesoamericanas (Commercial name is ALMA de Mexico) is a new Mexican New Generation Airline which plans to start operations based in Guadalajara, Mexico. On late May 2006 using 2 Bombardier CRJ-200 regional jets, and plans to increase its fleet to 8 Bombardier CRJ-200s over the next 5 months, and expects to expand this to 35 aircraft within 5 years.

On June 12, 2006, ALMA launched operations of their first flight from Guadalajara, Jalisco to Puebla, Puebla, has already signed lease agreements with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) and Canadian lessor CRAFT for 6 CRJ-200s. The other routes provided by ALMA will consist of Guadalajara to La Paz, Chihuahua and Los Mochis. Also in July, the carrier will add flights from Los Mochis to Chihuahua, and from Chihuahua to Tijuana.
On the June 21, 2006, ALMA started operating through their online portal www.alma.com.mx. Customers are now able to enjoy booking through their Navitaire powered online reservation system. Now offering competitive prices from TIJ-GDL, GDL-TIJ, around the same price level as other low cost airlines
