Ape Flower (Alocasia macrorrhiza). It is always difficult to determine these things from a photograph, but my impression of this one is that the plant is misidentified, and appears more likely to be Xanthosoma roseum. Schott (also caled `ape), based on the glaucous appearance of the stems. These species are commonly confused in Hawai'i. USGS photo by Forest and Kim Starr.
