Altcar and Hillhouse railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Altcar and Hillhouse railway station was a station located on the Southport & Cheshire Lines Extension Railway near Great Altcar Lancashire. It was also used by the Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railway whose line joined between Altcar and Mossbridge, the next station toward Southport.
The station first closed in 1917, along with all other stations on the extension line, due to World War I economy measures. The station then reopened in 1919, up until 7 January 1952, when goods services regular services ceased.
