Alternative Veterinary Medicine Centre

The Alternative Veterinary Medicine Centre is a centre for secondary referral of animals for veterinary treatment with so-called complementary or alternative medicine. Therapies used include homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, chiropractic treatment and laser therapy. It is based in Stanford in the Vale, in Oxfordshire UK.
The centre was founded by Christopher Day in 1987 and was the first such centre in the UK. It has been the subject of several television programmes. These include the BBC documentary Homeopathy - Medicine or Magic?, which was first broadcast in January 1991. The centre has also conducted clinical veterinary research into veterinary homeopathy.
Treatment is provided by a qualified veterinary surgeon.
